Yes, I was finally able to watch it last night with Pierre on IMAX… and I loved every single minute of it!
I think mostly everyone I know has seen it at least in the first two weeks it opened (multiple times for some of you too!), so I was pretty much behind. Finally had some free time after work, so I headed downtown to see it with Pierre.
We got the tickets at the Scotiabank Theatre first, then headed to eat at East! (got their seafood pad thai, which I love). We managed to eat pretty quickly, so right after that, off to watch The Dark Knight we went! Since it’s been more than a month, we thought that the theatre would only have 5-10 (20 max, maybe) people in it. When we went in the theatre, it was already 60% full, so we ended up sitting at the third row from the front…which wasn’t too bad since it was an IMAX theatre. After that, people just kept coming in and 90% of the theatre was filled up before showtime. Man! I didn’t think the movie was still bringing in that much of a crowd…and on a Thursday night too.
If you haven’t seen the movie in IMAX, see it again… it’s a must. I think that they should start making more IMAX movies since they’re just totally amazing in that format. (I can’t wait for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in IMAX, by the way!) If you haven’t seen the movie at all, stop living under a rock like I’ve been for the last month and go see it already. I was just totally mesmerized by Heath Ledger’s performance as The Joker. The role just suited him so… such a sad thing, the whole story.
Anyway, I’m glad to have finally seen the movie. Who wants to go see it (again)? I’ll gladly pay another $15 to see it in IMAX! :D
