2007: Year in Pictures

February 28, 2008 Rye Leave a comment

I created this video for January 1st, 2008 as a reminder/memento of the events and fun times I had in 2007. I haven’t had the chance to upload it until last week in YouTube, so I can finally post it in my blog. It’s been on my Facebook profile since this year started, but I thought I’d finally post it on here. This is a yearly video I do, and for 2007, I decided that I might as well just put most of the photos I took with my camera instead of choosing maybe 100 photos out of a couple thousand to showcase! It ended up looking quite neat by showing each photo for 1/4 of a second in the photo slideshow. Well, here it is… hope you enjoy it!

YouTube Channel

Yes! That’s right… I’ve got my very own YouTube channel which you can find here:
http://youtube.com/rcalv

This channel will have a lot of videos that will feature what’s currently happening with me and blog stuff. It’s to give you a more in-depth look on what goes on in my life, so you can now watch, and not just read about it or look at photos. This is quite exciting for me and I hope you like it! So far, there are only a couple of videos there. Please be patient while I try to upload as many videos as I can.

Also, this blog is going to go on a major organization trip in the next little while so please bear with me. I’m going to fix a lot of tags and categories I’ve used for all my previous posts, so I’ll pop up in more tag searches for some exposure! I think it’s quite exciting…

Winter wonderland?

February 12, 2008 Rye Leave a comment

In the last couple of weeks, Toronto has been subject to winter storm warmings. There were two snowstorms, and today, a windchill warning. It felt like -30C outside today with the wind.

I’ve just been staying indoors for the most part since I have midterms. I’ve been studying and relaxing at Pierre’s for the last little while. I did manage to take this photo while I was walking after the second snowstorm around Pierre’s neighbourhood:

And that’s why I still love Toronto for its winters. I can brave the freezing temperatures and almost slipping on ice multiple of times for a chance to see snowfall like that a few times a year.
